The people who make up
Missouri History & Hauntings
Society all have many years
of history and paranormal
related experience. We are
comprised of researchers,
history buffs,
preservationists, optimistic
skeptics, and believers. We
have all come together with
our love of history,
folklore, and the paranormal
to create this group.
Ginger Collins
- Group Organizer: I
have always been that girl
spending her days in old
cemeteries and abandoned
buildings. Most of my
childhood was spent in an
old cemetery which is
currently in desperate need
of preservation (please see
Old St. James Cemetery
photos). I grew up listening
to stories about ghosts and
unexplained phenomena, which
I guess is where my interest
in this field started, but
then I had my own personal
experiences and I've been
looking for answers ever
since. My main focus is on
preserving Missouri history
and the folklore and legends
that go along with it. I've
been asked before how
history and ghost stories
are related. Really? How are
they NOT? It's amazing how
many stories I find of
hauntings while learning and
preserving the history of
the area. I am also an
active investigator and
strive to provide a
scientific approach to
proving or disproving the
existence of paranormal
activity.
Rachel Davidson - Case
Management & Field Research:
As far
back as I can remember, I
have always had things
happen around me that some
would think of being out of
the ordinary. Some of my
earliest memories involve
seeing a man with a hat
peering into my and my
little sister's room from
the stairs. I can say that I
never felt I was in any harm
or felt threatened in any
way. It's almost like he was
keeping an eye on us. My
childhood home had a few
others there that did not
want to leave; a woman that
seemed to show up when
something bad was going to
happen and the previous
owner that liked to show us
he preferred to wear "tighty
whities". I am proud to be
part of this team and look
forward to assisting in any
way I can.
Steve "the tech man" -
Technical Support and Data
Analysis: Not only
does Steve help us with all
things computer and camera
related, he is also our
resident skeptic and group
bodyguard. He is in charge
of getting our cameras up
and running smoothly and is
usually the eyes on the
screen, monitoring any
notable movements or sounds
during an investigation.
Steve also speaks with many
of our male clients and
helps them feel more
comfortable about the
investigation process. While
Steve is still very much a
skeptic, he is open to the
idea that there may be more
out there than he thinks. He
has yet to fully accept the
possibility of experiencing
his own paranormal
encounter, but is keeping an
open mind about it. We
appreciate when he helps out
and consider him to be a
great asset to the team!
