What's New With MO History & Hauntings?

This is where you can find out what we have been up to, where we've been, and what we have been researching. We will keep this page the most up-to-date to keep you all informed of any new stories or information we've found. Check back often, we are always up to something!

  • 05-07-08:  Spring has finally sprung (in this part of the country anyway!) and we couldn't be more excited about it! It's a great time of year to get out there and meet fellow researchers, investigators and paranormal enthusiasts at many of the events being held all over the country. We have updated our Events page with many more opportunities to meet others with the same interests, discuss paranormal topics new and old, and maybe learn a thing or two! So head over there and see what's happening in your area, or plan a paranormal weekend getaway to attend one of these events! We've also added a new section to our homepage to share with you all some interesting stories we find on the web. This month we are featuring website articles about the Crystal Skull mysteries. With the new Indiana Jones film about to debut, we thought this would be the perfect subject with which to start. Every month we will  present our readers with a new topic. If you have an interesting item, story or subject pertaining to the unexplained you would like to share with us, please send an email to contactus@mohistoryhauntings.com and maybe you'll be next month's feature!  Lastly, have you checked out the upcoming Gettysburg event we are attending being hosted by Southern Ghosts? You better head over and take a peek, we are giving away free stuff to the next 5 people who mention Missouri History & Hauntings when signing up. So you better hurry, and we'll see you in Gettysburg!

  • 03-31-08:  As some of you may have noticed, we are no longer planning to host a ghost tour in Kimmswick, Missouri. At this time we would like to focus more on the investigations we have lined up for this year and devote more time to providing our clients with the help they need. Planning a tour like what we had in mind was taking us away from our clients and we would rather assist those in need than host an entertaining event. It is possible that we may return to the tour plans in the future, as we have met and become friends with some wonderful people there but as of right now it just wouldn't be fair to the people who need our help with paranormal activity. Also, for those who do not know, Ginger Collins will no longer be speaking at the Gettysburg Ghost Conference hosted by Vince Wilson in July 2008. Due to circumstances beyond her control, she has recently declined participation. Sorry for an inconvenience this may have caused for our friends.

  • 01-11-08: Happy New Year from all of us at Missouri History & Hauntings! We've made so many new friends in the past year and we thank all of you for your continued support. We think 2008 is going to be the best year yet and look forward to many new events. Also, we've set up a new email for those of you who wish to receive notification of updates we make to the site. You can send your email address to: updates@mohistoryhauntings.com and we'll keep you updated!  Last but certainly not least, we've added an update to our Washington Park Cemetery page.  Those of you in the St. Louis area may have heard about the disgraceful behavior of Grand Center and the unacceptable treatment of 24 headstones found in a recently purchased building. Read more here: Washington Park.

  • 11-02-07: We hope you all had a very spooky and haunting Halloween! We at MHHS were busy educating a group of wonderful people at Trout Lodge. We would like to thank Laurie Smith and the rest of YMCA's great staff for a night of fun and also the group with Elderhostel who made us feel very welcome. We had a very busy October and November is starting the same way so please keep checking back with us for exciting news and updates!

  • 10-18-07: We are very excited to announce the addition of our newest member - Rachel Davidson. Rachel comes to us from another St Louis area group and is eager to start digging into the historical research MHHS loves to do. Rachel will also be our Case Manager and Field Researcher. She is an asset to the team and we are happy to have her join us on what's turning into a very busy Fall season! You can find out more about Rachel on our members page. Many of you are still curious about our Kimmswick tours and all I can share with you now is that we are still preparing and anticipating early Summer as our starting point. Also, we are looking for more beginner groups forming in Southern Missouri as we have several cases in that area to share. Please contact us if you are interested in taking some investigations.

  • 10-02-07: MHHS is currently hunting down the hauntings in New York this week! If/when we find anything exciting, we will be sure to share it with you right here. Also, please notice the changes made to the upcoming Kimmswick tours. We are working through some schedule conflicts and hoping with the extra time gained by changing the tour dates we will be able to offer you more history, more haunting tales, and more experiences! It truly takes a village to put something like this together and we want it to be a memorable experience for all of our visitors. Thanks for your patience and hope to see you next Summer! We would also like to say a big Thank You to Keith Age and his wonderful LGHS group! The convention was very enjoyable and we had a great time. Can't wait to see you all next year!

  • 09-06-07: Are you going to be at the Mid-South Paranormal Convention hosted by Keith Age and his LGHS team? We are! You should join us by visiting www.louisvilleghs.com and signing up. We'll see you there!

  • 08-24-07: First of all we would like to thank all of our friends for the amazing support while we go through our website changes. It's been hectic, but the end is in sight! Hope everyone is enjoying the new look and there will be more to come. We are also working on putting together a true history & hauntings tour for the Summer of 2008. Keep checking back with us for more details.

  • 07-26-07: Big changes are coming with a new design for the site and a lot of new trips planned. Please check back with us to see all of the new photos and information that will soon be posted. • 03-24-07: We packed up the car and headed southwest on Saturday to St. James, Missouri. We stopped to visit a few cemeteries in need of preservation and also a few historic spots along the way. Visit our Photos page to see the locations. We are in need of volunteers in the Phelps County area to do preservation and clean-up work in a few cemeteries. If you are interested in donating a few hours of your time, please contact us by email or leave us a voicemail message. You can find our contact information on our homepage.

  • 03-18-07: We are currently accepting stories about Missouri history and folklore, so be sure to visit our home page for contact information so you can share your stories with us!

  • 03-02-07: We now have a MySpace page! You can find it and add us to your friends list by going here:

Mark Sceurman and Mark Moran from Weird U.S. were there and shared roadside oddities from around the country. Be sure to check them out on the History Channel.
